​It's a Wonderful Life was released in 1946 and is set on Christmas Eve. George Bailey, the main character, contemplates suicide after determining that life has lost all meaning and that people would probably be better off if he was never born. In his internal plight, God sends a guardian angel to him in an effort to show him how much meaning his life has had on the community around him. In this timeless classic, focusing on his struggle of faith during one of the most holy and jolly times of the year, we are reminded of one of the most important tenants of the holiday season.
